Icicles are gone.

Icicles are gone! And, rain drops are beating the window pretty hard.

Melting Snow

Though the air temperature remains sub-zero most of the day, the sun is regaining power to melt snow surely and steadily...in mosaics of white, gray and silver.
The Sun's abstract sculpture.

Frozen Windshield

Water freezes like this, when the air is moist but the temperature does not go down so quickly. The air temperature when photographed was 2 degrees C below zero.

Hawfinch

A hawfinch. Why does the stern face of a hawfinch often make me chuckle? Because they are looking too serious all the time.

Frost

Frost on car window. This type of frosting occurs when the air is moist and the temperature drops very quickly. Pretty!

Happy and Content

I've eaten my favorite snack & played with favorite toys. I'm truly happy and content. In a few minute time, I'm going to go to bed. Good night, everyone.

These icicles have been hanging there for more than 3 weeks without melting. When they disappear completely...., the long-awaited spring will arrive!

Snow again. A street light through snow flakes looked like a full moon.
I felt like being in a desolate place and became a bit disoriented in swirls of snow, though it was a pretty urbanized area.

It snowed pretty hard a few days ago.

My Favorite Toy

I love to play with this one. I know which color beads I should move. And, I know that I should not damage the beads with my beak.

My Favorite Froggie

This is my favorite froggie. Love to walk and peck on his face.

Snow Clouds covering the sun

In the matter of few minutes, clouds came on the northerly winds. It might snow tomorrow.

A Woodpecker seems to have foraged here.

This hole is bigger than it looks. 10x3cm and 4cm deep. Since the exposed wood is fresh, it was dug probably within the past few days. A Black Woodpecker did this, maybe?

Winter Bud and Leaf Scar(2)

Another leaf scar with a winter bud. This looks like a person with a cone-shaped cap on.

Winter buds and leaf scars of a walnut tree. The leaf scars look like smiling monkey faces, don't they? The velvety buds feels nice and smooth.

Icicles

Bundles of icicles hanged from a gym roofs. The longest was about 2.5m.
Icicles were light blue and beautiful.

Walk in the Woods(2)

The surface of snow was glittering like myriads of diamond particles. But it is really hard to capture by a camera.

Walk in the Woods

Went for a walk in nearby woods. It was still subzero temperature, but the sun felt warm and bright. Shown is a fox trail. It is a fairly old one and the edge of each foot print is melting, resulting in the formation of a ridge.

Security Blanket

This mallard throw is my security blanket. Please, kindly back off!!

A Rook

They come around here to winter, mainly ground foraging. Really cute guys! We have to say goodby to them soon. They depart for their breeding grounds in March.

"How do I look?"

I've just had a shower and preened really well. I've got two scratches around the right nostril. I hit the cupboard hard, as I made an unsuccessful landing.

Good morning!

It is a cold and snow-covered morning. Cloudy but the sun is getting brighter. Spring is only a couple of corners away, if not just around the corner.

Hi, everyone.

I am looking forward to getting in touch with other nature lovers and of course, those who aren't into nature are also welcome. Let's have fun time on the Net.
