Though the air temperature remains sub-zero most of the day, the sun is regaining power to melt snow surely and steadily...in mosaics of white, gray and silver.
Water freezes like this, when the air is moist but the temperature does not go down so quickly. The air temperature when photographed was 2 degrees C below zero.
I've eaten my favorite snack & played with favorite toys. I'm truly happy and content. In a few minute time, I'm going to go to bed. Good night, everyone.
These icicles have been hanging there for more than 3 weeks without melting. When they disappear completely...., the long-awaited spring will arrive!
Snow again. A street light through snow flakes looked like a full moon.
I felt like being in a desolate place and became a bit disoriented in swirls of snow, though it was a pretty urbanized area.
This hole is bigger than it looks. 10x3cm and 4cm deep. Since the exposed wood is fresh, it was dug probably within the past few days. A Black Woodpecker did this, maybe?

They come around here to winter, mainly ground foraging. Really cute guys! We have to say goodby to them soon. They depart for their breeding grounds in March.
I've just had a shower and preened really well. I've got two scratches around the right nostril. I hit the cupboard hard, as I made an unsuccessful landing.
I am looking forward to getting in touch with other nature lovers and of course, those who aren't into nature are also welcome. Let's have fun time on the Net.
